(Salem, Ore.—April 30, 2012) – Douglas County Livestock Association’s Spring Conference, with support from the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association, drew its largest crowd ever with engaging and educational workshops throughout the day. Held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, participants listened to speakers presenting on topics related to “Making Cents in Ranching.”

A highlight of the day was the afternoon workshop, presented by the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association, on “Ranching for Profit,” the sought after workshop from Ranch Management Consultants. Dave Pratt discussed how to put profit back in ranching and look at how to approach ranching from a profit perspective. Participants enjoyed the interactive session that emphasized the importance of economics in approaching the business model for ranching. As one participant commented, “This workshop was about working smarter to make our hard work pay off.”

The Oregon Cattlemen’s Association is proud to have worked together with the Douglas County Livestock Association to bring this educational workshop to ranchers in Douglas County.
