Pacific Northwest Young Cattlemen’s Conference to be held January 10th, 2014

(December 17, 2014 – Salem, OR) Young ranchers from Oregon, Washington, and Idaho will to join together on January 10th to ensure better beef for the future. The Oregon Cattlemen’s Association, their Young Cattlemen’s Committee, Washington Cattlemen’s Association, Idaho Cattle Association and Oregon Beef Council have partnered together in providing upcoming cattlemen an opportunity – FREE of charge – to gain knowledge and build relationships for the future. Attendees will tour the Northwest’s Treasure Valley and hear from top notch industry speakers along the way. All those interested in cattle production and/or “young at heart” are encouraged to join.

As stated by Ron Rowan of Beef Northwest and longtime organizer of this event, “The Pacific Northwest Young Cattlemen’s Tour is the first of its kind. The industry support and young cattlemen participation has far exceeded expectations. It’s been a great way for our industry to give back to the young cattlemen and for the young cattlemen to have hands on experience.”

The fourth annual Pacific Northwest Young Cattlemen’s Tour will begin at 7AM in Baker City, Oregon and continue onto Caldwell and Parma, Idaho with stops at Western Stockmen’s feed mill and seed plant, Ed Johnson Feedlot, M&M Feeders, and Boise Valley Feeders. Agri Beef Co. and Western Stockmen’s will provide free meals for all attendees. The day will conclude with dinner and entertainment back in Baker City.

As an added bonus, the 10th Annual Cattlemen’s Conference held in La Grande will follow on Saturday January 11th. No pre-registration is required for the workshop and all Tour registrants are encouraged to attend this FREE event with lunch provided! There will be no bus on January 11th, those attending the tour and workshop will need to provide their own transportation Saturday.
