Workshop for Beginning Sheep Producers

The mentor program, a cooperative educational effort of the Oregon Sheep Growers Association and Oregon State University, is sponsoring a workshop for new and novice sheep producers on Tuesday, April 4 at the OSU Extension Office. Topics include an introduction to the Oregon sheep industry, scrapie program, ewe and lamb health, marketing lamb to local consumers and other aspects of the mentor program.

A light dinner will be available at 4:45 pm. There is no charge for the workshop. Pre-registration is required by March 31. For more information or to register contact Gene Pirelli, OSU Regional Livestock/Forage Specialist at 503.623.8395 or gene.pirelli@orgonstate.edu.
