Subject: Governor’s Natural Resources Exec Appointments 7/31 deadline

Greetings, this email is provided to Oregon’s sovereign tribal governments, natural resource partners, agency directors, and Regional Solutions Coordinators. Please share with your networks.

The Governor’s Executive Appointments Office has received a number of applications for board and commission service. Some of these require Senate confirmation, others do not.

  • For Senate-confirmed appointments, interest forms are due July 31 for the September 2017 Senate Rules Committee meeting.
  • For appointments not subject to Senate confirmation, please follow any advertised deadlines.

Please note:

  • Current members interested in reappointment need to submit applications.
  • The Governor’s Office will accept and review all applications received by the deadlines.
  • Applicants are encouraged to submit required forms as early as possible.
  • Members who have served two full terms will not be considered for reappointment.

Qualifications:  Governor Brown is looking for well-qualified, thoughtful, collaborative Oregonians who have a statewide perspective.  The Governor wants Oregon’s boards and commissions to reflect the diversity of Oregon, including rural communities, geographic diversity, gender, race and ethnic diversity, and diversity of knowledge and experience. Applicants must also demonstrate commitment to attend and productively participate in all meetings.  Some boards and commissions have specific statutory requirements. Interested parties should contact the director or administrator of the appropriate agency, board or commission (webpage links below).

How to apply: Complete and submit three forms: (1) Interest Form http://www.oregon.gov/gov/admin/Documents/Interest%20Form%20.pdf, 2) a statement of interest, and (3) a resume of your work and volunteer experience and educational background.  For information on how to apply, go to http://www.oregon.gov/gov/admin/Pages/How_To_Apply.aspx . Email completed forms to executive.appointments@oregon.gov . Applicants may or may not be contacted for an in-person or telephone interview with a Governor’s Natural Resources Office policy advisor.  Governor’s nominees will be contacted by the Executive Appointments Office regarding the process for Senate confirmation hearings.

Senate-confirmed Boards and Commissions

Non-Senate-confirmed Boards and Commissions – This is not a comprehensive list. For more information, contact the director or administrator of the board or commission of interest
